# About The Modern Web

Published 2026-05-06

## [January 2017](https://themodernweb.co.uk/2017/01/)

Filed under: [Front page](https://themodernweb.co.uk/) · Standing page

The Modern Web shares useful technology, techniques and stories from modern web development and design.

## What the weblog covers

The writing here sits across a few related subjects: front-end development, WordPress work, technical SEO, terminal and tooling tips, interface and user experience ideas, and the occasional collection of resources or workspaces worth looking at.

The common thread is practical rather than theoretical. Most entries come out of a real problem encountered while building something, and are written for the developers, designers and site owners likely to hit the same thing.

## How it is organised

Entries are filed by month and by category. The categories follow the subjects above, with Web Development carrying children for CSS, SCSS, Javascript, Git, Tutorials and WordPress, so a reader who only wants one strand can follow it directly from the sidebar.
